‘Blending neo-classical foundations with personal sound explorations, I craft emotive, atmospheric compositions that push the boundaries of melody and texture’ - Istrati
Melodies from my Room
Introducing "Melodies from My Room" - An Intimate Journey through Sound
I am excited to share with you my latest creation, an instrumental album that has been a labor of love, born right from the heart of my own personal space. "Melodies from My Room" is an eight-track musical voyage that delves into the essence of simplicity, embracing the diverse sounds that can be woven from limited resources.
I've placed a special emphasis on the exploration of the piano's myriad voices, allowing it to serve as a canvas for my deepest emotions. For, as we all know, our rooms are the spaces where we reveal our most authentic selves, hidden from the world's demands and expectations.
Each composition is a window into my very own emotional sanctuary, and I invite you to join me on this heartfelt journey as we unlock the power of personal connection through music.
About
Istrati is a neo-classical composer based in London. Born and raised in Latvia, Istrati immersed himself in music from an early age, starting with piano and showing interest in a wide range of musical styles. Istrati studies Jazz Piano at Leeds College of Music, a pivotal step in his musical journey.
He continued his studies at the Royal College of Music in London, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Composition and then a Master’s in Composition for Screen. This academic path allowed him to broaden his musical horizons and master the art of composing for various media formats.
Istrati’s music is a unique blend of neo-classical elements, jazz improvisation, and sound experimentation. With a rich background in jazz, he seamlessly combines improvisational techniques with classical approaches, creating compositions that captivate with their simplicity and emotional depth.
In 2023, Istrati released his debut album, Melodies from My Room. This album is an exploration of solo piano, experimenting with different sound treatment methods to convey an intimate and sincere atmosphere. The album serves as a kind of sonic diary, capturing personal moments and inner experiences of the composer.
Currently, Istrati s working on his second album, Melodies from Highland, which expands his experimentation by incorporating a range of instruments, including strings, percussion, and other innovative sound treatments. This new album will serve as a “second chapter” to his debut, continuing his exploration of melody through a rich tapestry of sounds and textures.
